Downsizing Hits American General Media

• RAMP has learned that American General Media has made some tough cuts — over 30 employees have been downsized between the company’s clusters in Albuquerque, NM and Bakersfield, CA, coupled with across-the-board salary reductions. Additional cuts have taken place in AGM’s clusters in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo, CA and the “Four Corners” markets of Durango & Cortez, CO and Farmington, NM. Most of the company’s promotions and digital departments have also released. Among those adversely affected:

Tony Tecate, who was APD/afternoon talent on Hot AC KKRG (Mix 105.1)/Albuquerque and George McFly, who was doing afternoons across the hall on Classic Hits KABG. In Bakersfield, KKXX (Hits 93.1) afternoon personality Drewski is also out.

Tecate famously did three tours of duty with KSFM/Sacramento and was APD/MD and morning personality there until April 2018. He has also worked in Honolulu, Boise, ID, Fresno, Bakersfield and Los Angeles. Tecate can be reached at 808-342-6593, via email: TonyTecate@hotmail.com and on social @TonyTShow.

• McFly, whose resume includes B96 and WJMK/Chicago and KKMG/Colorado Springs, to name a few, can be reached at 505-227-1943 or georgemcflyradio@yahoo.com.
