Jackson Exits Mornings On KMLE/Phoenix

RAMP has confirmed that Gunner Jackson has stepped down as morning co-host on Audacy Country 107.9 KMLE/Phoenix after nearly five years in the chair. Co-host Cheyenne Davis is currently flying solo.

Jackson (left, with Davis) shared the news of his departure on KMLE’s Instagram account, stating, “Just wanted you to hear the news from me first. I have stepped away from hosting the morning show on KMLE Country 107.9. I’ll cherish the memories and relationships I’ve been able to make with our great listeners in The Valley. My family and I will be forever grateful for the love, support and prayers we received from you when my daughter Taytem went through her battle with cancer. Now I’m going to focus on what’s best for my family and what is next for me in this industry that I love.”

Jackson and Davis joined KMLE in December 2019 — a RAMP Leap Of The Week™ move, as the duo was propelled upward in market size from mornings on Townsquare Country KDBL (92.9 The Bull)/Yakima, WA — where he was also Brand Manager — replacing former KMLE wake-up team Maria Knight and Chad Mitchell.

Jackson was previously an Executive Morning Show Producer at KBKS/Seattle, PD/morning host at KYSN/Wenatchee, WA and KIQK/Rapid City, SD, and on-air at KUJ-FM/Tri-Cities, WA. He can now be contacted at mrericlutz@icloud.com.
