KFMB/San Diego Cuts DSC Loose

• So… those negotiations between Tegna-owned Rock KFMB (KFM-BFM)/San Diego and market morning mainstays Dave, Shelly and Chainsaw have officially hit the proverbial brick wall — shortly after co-host Shelly Dunn announced her retirement last week, talks have now irretrievably broken down between management and hosts Dave Rickards and Cookie “Chainsaw” Randolph — along with supporting castmates Ruth 66Chris Boyer and Emily Maguire — leaving the nearly 30-year-old show without a radio home at present.

In a statement posted on the KFMB website, KFMB President & General Manager Alberto Mier Y Teran, said, “After extensive negotiations and a generous offer to theDSC team, we were unfortunately unable to reach an agreement to keep the show here at KFMB. We wish the DSCthe very best with their future pursuits. I also want to thank and wish Shelly Dunn well on her retirement, which she announced last week. She’s had an incredible 30-year career and will be missed. We are looking to the future and remain committed to our listeners in San Diego.”
