New Chapter For Amber Stone

• RAMP has learned that Amber Stone is about to close the radio chapter of her career, announcing her impending departure from Adams Radio Group Ft. Wayne, IN, where for the past three years she’s been doing middays on Top 40 WJFX (Hot 107.9) and mornings on AC sibling WWFW (103.9 Sunny FM) — the first woman to anchor a morning show in the market.

Stone arrived in Ft. Wayne in August 2015, coming from the APD/midday spot at Pamal Top 40 WZRT (Z97.1)/Rutland, VT. Stone is a Michigan native who previously worked for Cumulus Hot AC WDVD and former Adult Hits WDRQ (93.1 Doug FM)/Detroit.

In a farewell letter, Stone said, “After a WILD 10 years in radio, I’ve decided to say goodbye. There are times in your life when you have to listen to your heart & soul and take a jump! I’m grateful for all the amazing and talented people I’ve connected with in this industry, the Women in Radio group, my mentors who’ve helped me learn and grow over the years, and the incredible memories with listeners.” She added, “Thank you to PD Robbie Mack for bringing me on as the first female morning host in Fort Wayne, and being open to my vision of empowerment for the show. Without big risks, there are no big rewards. Cheers to unknown adventures!”

Ms. Stone’s final day on the air is Monday, Sept. 24. After that she can be reached at amberstonemedia33@gmail.com.
