Nick & Kristen Out At Audacy Portland

• The semi lowkey Audacy cuts continue, this time reaching Portland, where married morning duo Nick Steele and Kristen Flowers have exited mornings on Country KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf) after six years. In a statement, Nick & Kristen said, “Unfortunately we are no longer with 99.5 The Wolf, but we wanted to thank our listeners for sticking with us for the last six years and for supporting us this whole time. We were able to make a huge impact on our community because of their support, including erasing over $18 million in medical debt. We want to thank our boss, Scott Roddy for making us a better show every day and allowing us the freedom to do a show we are proud of. We love the PNW and we are looking for our next adventure.”

Nick & Kristen joined KWJJ in January 2020, coming off a three-year run in morning at Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT/San Francisco. Before that they did mornings on Entravision Country KNTY (101.9 The Wolf)/Sacramento. The couple met 16 years ago at CBS Radio Las Vegas, where Kristen was an anchor for News-Talk KXNT-AM and Nick was on-air at 98.5 KLUC. They formally debuted as a morning team in 2012 at Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WMGI/Terre Haute, IN.

As their statement mentioned, the show’s signature charitable endeavor was the Nick and Kristen Medical Debt Payoff. In partnership with the organization Undue Medical Debt, the show and its listeners raised enough money to pay off over $18 million in medical debt — a remarkable accomplishment that earned them the prestigious Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award, which they will accept in person later this month at CRS 2026 in Nashville. While at CRS, both will be very visible — Nick will host AI Classroom: Creative Tools on Friday, March 20, and Kristen will be a panelist at On Air, Under Pressure: Dealing with Breaking News.

In the meantime, they can be contacted at NKMornings@gmail.com.
