Pros In Mo!tion
• Hubbard Radio Alternative KDKB (ALT AZ 93-3)/Phoenix just completed a primetime jock swap that moves midday goddess Mo! up into mornings, exchanging shifts with current wake-up pro Ian Canfield. A native of Mesa, AZ, Ms. Mo! got her radio break as an intern in 2011. She worked her way into a gig with sister KUPD in 2013, and, a year later, landed the night show on ALT AZ. Last November she got the big boost up to middays, and today, she begins her new morning adventure as host of The Mo! Show from 5:30-10am.
“Mo’s energy and enthusiasm, along with her listener appeal make her a great choice for this daypart,” said Trip Reeb, Market Manager for Hubbard Radio Phoenix. He added, “Ian has got the ball rolling and will be great in middays. We are thrilled with the new lineup.” The rest of the daily roster looks like this: Ian Camfield from 10am-3pm; Dustin from 3-7pm and Rob rolls 7-midnight.
• Damn, that was fast — just a week after exiting Entercom Sports-Talk KGMZ (95.7 The Game)/San Francisco, our buddy Victor “Big Daddy” Zaragoza has already landed a gig — he has magically reappeared across the street at CBS Radio News-Talk KCBS as the overnight traffic reporter, part of the station’s new in-house Traffic/Sports Dept. “It feels good to be out of work for only a week and now I have to grow up and be an adult on a News-Talk format!” Zaragoza tells RAMP. “I feel blessed to be wanted in this market and in this industry!”
• iHeartMedia Country BIG 98.5/Richmond has started to staff up — the motion starts in morning drive with the installation of the syndicated Bobby Bones Show. “We’re thrilled to give Country listeners in Richmond a top notch morning program like The Bobby Bones Show,” said Zac Davis, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Richmond and PD of BIG 98.5. “Bobby and his team are influencers that produce very relatable and smart content for today’s Country consumer. He’ll be taking the helm of our newest station in the cluster, BIG 98.5, and we can’t wait for Bobby to bring his comedy tour to RVA.”
BIG 98.5 has also added the talents of local personality Mojo from 1-3pm weekdays. Mojo also does afternoons on Classic Rock sister 96.1 The Planet (WRVQ-HD2) and is an iHeartRadio Custom Classic Rock talent.
• New England radio vet Loren Petisce has stepped down from her dual role as afternoon personality on CCB Media Country WKPE (Cape Country 104) and midday talent on Hot AC WQRC (99-9 The Q)/Cape Cod and is now seeking a fulltime major market opportunity.
Petisce previously co-hosted mornings on Townsquare Top 40 WFHN (Fun 107)/New Bedford, MA before joining Cape Cod Broadcasting in October 2015. She’s still doing part-time on-air at WBMX (Mix 104.1)/Boston and recently became a Radio Instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Petisce is willing to relocate and is standing by to discuss her future plans with you at lorenpetisce@gmail.com.
