Pros On The Loose
• Well, this sucks… making spirits not-so-bright in Seattle, iHeartMedia Top 40 KPWK (Power 93.3) has eliminated the APD/afternoon drive position of Kwame Dankwa after 11 months in the building. Dankwa arrived in the Emerald City in January of 2016, driving like crazy cross-country from the PD post at Pamal Top 40 WZRT (Z97.1)/Rutland, VT — his second tour-of-duty at Z97.1. He was also doing weekends at CBS Radio’s WODS (103.3 AMP Radio)/Boston. In between his two stints at Z97.1, Dankwa was APD/night jock at iHeartMedia Top 40 KWNW (101.9 Radio Now)/Memphis.
Dankwa remarked, “I am so grateful I had this opportunity to for personal and professional growth, thank you to Rich Davis, Kent Hael, Rich Moore, Justin Riley and Maynard for giving me the chance to showcase my talents and expand my skill set. Onward and upward!” Kwame is now seeking his next programming opportunity and can be reached at OnAirWithKD@gmail.com.
• Our friend Steve Mills is now also newly available, as his position of Director of Operations and Programming for Midwest Communications five-station cluster in Kalamazoo, MI was recently eliminated. Mills landed in Kalamazoo last August, transitioning from his spot as Manager of Streaming Operations for Cumulus Media in Atlanta.
Earlier in his career Mills was VP/Corporate Program Director for Pembrook Pines/Titan Media in Elmira, NY. After a stint as PD of Clear Channel’s WZZO/Allentown, PA, Mills joined Cumulus in June of 2014 as PD of Classic Hits KWIC and Rock KDVV (V100) in his hometown of Topeka, KS. He’s now in search of his next opportunity in Operations, Digital Sales or General Sales Management in the Michigan, Wisconsin or Illinois area, and can be reached at 269-569-5108 or steve@radioisntdead.com.
• Veteran major market air talent Mike Adam has exited the afternoon drive shift at CBS Radio Top 40 WZMP (96.5 AMP Radio)/Philadelphia. Adam had been with the station since it introduced live jocks in August of 2015. He will continue to do weekends/fill-in for sister WBMP (92.3 AMP Radio)/New York as well as weekends on WKZL/Greensboro via the magic of voice tracking.
Mr. Adam previously did nights on iHeartMedia’s WIOQ (Q102)/Philadelphia and WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford and WWVA (WiLD 105.7 & 96.7)/Atlanta, to name a few. He’s now open to new possibilities in 2017 and can be reached for meaningful conversations at mikeadamonair@gmail.com.
