Pros On The Loose: Shawn Tempesta

• Another Las Vegas pro has hit the free agent market — Shawn Tempesta was let go from Beasley Classic Hits 96.3 KKLZ last Friday. Check out his announcement video HERE.

In a statement, Tempesta said, “Throughout the last three and a half years with the company, I helped launch 102.7 VGS and took it from 20th to 1st in mornings in less than a year, helped KKLZ successfully transition after the departure of the legendary Mike O’Brian, created thousands of social media videos, and designed and implemented digital video systems for several stations throughout the company — including 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston — that continue to generate tens of millions of views and bring in significant new-found revenue. Here’s to what’s next!”

Tempesta has been a Las Vegas media pro since 2010 — he notably juggled afternoons/APD at Audacy Hot AC KMXB (Mix 94.1) from 2010-2021 and served as co-host of The Morning Blend on KTNV-13 from 2010-2022 (receiving an Emmy nomination). He also tracked middays at WMJX (Magic 106.7)/Boston from 2020-2021.

Tempesta joined Beasley Las Vegas in early 2022 as morning host/Executive Producer of Aimee+Shawn at Hot AC KVGS (102.7 VGS). That partnership ended in Nov. 2025, when KVGS and Country KCYE swapped frequencies, and Tempesta crossed the hall to KKLZ as morning co-host alongside Carla Rea, who remains in mornings, along with Producer Christopher “Morty” Sampaio.

A native of Revere, MA, Tempesta got his first radio break as a board op at WXKS (Kiss 108)/Boston. He later worked at WLNH/Laconia NH and WFHN/New Bedford, MA, and did part-time at WBMX (Mix 98.5/104.1)/Boston. He also co-hosted The Rhode Show on Fox Providence in 2009 (and received an Emmy nomination).

Tempesta can be easily contacted at 617-771-3760 or via his website, ShawnTempesta.com.
