WOR, Todd Schnitt Part Ways
The now former Len Berman and Todd Schnitt in the Morning show on iHeartMedia’s venerable News-Talk 710 WOR-AM/New York is now missing the “Todd Schnitt” part, as Schnitt (right) has left the show. During Friday’s broadcast, co-host Len Berman (left) explained that Schnitt had left after he and the company were unable to come to financial terms.
RAMP reached out to WOR PD Tom Cuddy for confirmation of Schnitt’s departure, and he told us, “Todd Schnitt is no longer with the WOR morning show. I’ve had the pleasure to work with Todd twice (the first time in the early ’90s at WPLJ). We thank him for his many contributions and wish him the best in the future.” Looking ahead, Cuddy remarked, “As we search for a new co-host to join Len Berman, longtime WOR news anchor Joe Bartlett will join Len, as well as various guest co-hosts.”
The seemingly unlikely pairing of Schnitt and Berman made their WOR debut on Jan. 26, 2015 — Berman, an Emmy-winning sportscaster and New York Times bestselling author whose 40-year broadcasting career included a stint with WNBC-TV/New York. He’s also the creator of “Spanning the World,” a monthly collection of sports bloopers seen on NBC’s Today show. Schnitt (as his alter ego MJ Kelli) famously did mornings (both solo and with BJ Harris) for 18 years on WFLZ/Tampa and multiple affiliates. Schnitt will continue to host his syndicated Schnitt Show for Compass Media Networks.
