Can You Fill Dee Daniels’ Shoes?
• Centennial Broadcasting Hot AC WBQB (B101.5)/Fredericksburg, VA has a rare morning show opening, as Dee Daniels, host of Dee In The Morning announced her imminent departure after 13 years. She will be relocating to Savannah, GA to pursue an opportunity outside of radio, and her final broadcast will be this Friday, August 13.
When sharing her big news on Facebook, Daniels said, “It has been one of the greatest joys of my life to serve and entertain the greater Fredericksburg region with B101.5 and Centennial Broadcasting. I hope you will join me on Friday, August 13th, in celebrating 13 years of fun, laughter and amazing local partnerships. Thank you for letting me be a part of your community and your lives.” Daniels added, “I’m happy to let you know I’ll be back September 23rd & 24th for our annual Careathon for Children’s National Hospital, as this is so close to my heart!”
Market Manager Mark Bass remarked, “We couldn’t be more happy… and sad at the same time. Sad that Dee is leaving, but happy she is following her dreams and her heart. We thank her and wish nothing but the best for her future.”
A nationwide search is now underway to find Daniels’ successor as the next anchor of the B101.5 morning show. In the interim, current Dee In The Morning cast members Ted Schubel, Robert Workman, and Promotions & Marketing Director Mandy “AJ” Smith will remain in place, with B101.5 personality Adam West and OM Chuck Archer sharing hosting duties until a permanent host is in place.
