iHeartMedia Charlotte Needs You!

• After nine years with iHeartMedia Country WKKT (96.9 The Kat)/Charlotte, Meg Butterly yesterday announced she will be leaving the morning show she co-hosts with Country Radio Hall of Famer Paul Schadt, effective Friday, August 24. Butterly (pictured here, right, with Kelsea Ballerini and her dog, Dibs), posted the announcement on her blog, stating, in part, “I will still be working with 96.9 The Kat, but on a part-time basis. I have truly enjoyed the last 9 years with Paul and Geof, but I have been offered an incredible opportunity outside of radio, and have decided to pursue it.”

Butterly joined WKKT in 2009, coming from WIRK/West Palm Beach. In 2016 she successfully beat a benign brain tumor and made a full recovery. “Everyone has been so fantastic to me over the years; the happy times, and even the scary times with my health, too,” Butterly wrote. “I can’t imagine having been with anyone else when I went through all of it. I am so happy and thankful that I will still be able to be part of The Kat family.” She added, “This decision hasn’t been an easy one to make… thank you everyone for the support and love over the years.”

Meg Stevens, who doubles as iHeartMedia EVP of Programming and PD of WKKT, is now seeking an equally talented and dedicated replacement to pair with Paul Schadt. “This is the best job out there in Country Radio,” Stevens tells RAMP. “Come join a top-rated show, where the people are nice, and the weather is good.” Qualified candidates should send their best stuff to Meg at MegStevens@iheartmedia.com.

• Meanwhile, across the hall at Alternative sibling WEND (106.5 The End)… PD Chuck “DZL” Thompson is actively on the prowl to find his next nighttime superstar who can also proudly serve as Music Director. As we recently reported, current WEND APD/MD Tamo Sein is on her way to sunny Los Angeles as the new midday talent on sister KYSR (ALT 98.7).

If you are already living the “ALT” lifestyle and were born with a phone in your hand, this is the gig for you! We’re looking for someone who is strong on-air and in the digi-sphere. G-Selector knowledge would be a huge bonus. This is a rare opportunity to join a team that boasts a live, local morning show and a complete on-air staff. DZL is now accepting applications, airchecks and links to your social profiles. Study up on all of the gig’s qualifications and apply online via the iHeartMedia Careers Drive-Thru Window.
