Time For A Change
After three decades as a radio personality, and the past 10 years anchoring the morning show at Midwest Communications’ AC WJXA (Mix 92.9)/Nashville, Kim Leslie announced she’s stepping away from radio and plans to launch a charitable foundation. “After 10 years in the lead chair of the most successful morning radio show in Nashville, I felt it was time to draw on my experience and my resources to create a foundation that leaves everyone smiling,” Leslie said. “I’m very fortunate to have the full support of my colleagues at WJXA and Midwest Communications who have encouraged my professional growth by supporting a transition plan that benefits everyone involved.”
Operations Manager Barbara Bridges commented, “Kim has been a major contributor to the success of the station over the past decade. We wish her well and we are pleased to continue working with her while she transitions into this exciting new opportunity. With her tenacity and talent, we are looking forward to seeing where this will lead her.” Leslie added, “I’ve enjoyed a very successful radio career. I’ve built programs I’m proud of and delivered undeniable ratings success, but this is an opportunity to make a difference in an exciting new way. That will be my focus.”
Leslie will announce details for her new foundation soon. In the meantime, she will continue to work at Mix 92.9 as Midwest Communications kicks off a planetwide search for her replacement.
