97X/Tampa’s ‘Next Big Thing’ Hits Big 2-0
• Cox Media Group Alternative WSUN (97X)/Tampa announced the 20th Anniversary lineup of the annual 97X Next Big Thing, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheater — Twenty One Pilots will headline the Friday night lineup, along with Glass Animals and Meet Me at The Altar. Saturday’s lineup includes headliner Weezer, along with AJR, All Time Low and Bastille. Other acts on the bill include Girl In Red, Yungblud, Mod Sun, Nessa Barrett, Girlfriends, Daisy The Great and Upsahl.
“To finally be able to launch 97X Next Big Thing’s 20th anniversary lineup is unbelievably emotional for the entire 97X team,” said Jenna Kesneck, 97X Director of Branding & Programming. “It’s an honor to bring back 97X NBT alumni, twenty øne piløts, to headline night one and we couldn’t be more excited to see Weezer’s first appearance on the NBT stage. Over the last two decades, we’ve watched bands’ careers evolve, our listeners grow up and after everything we have all been through together over the last 18 months, we have no doubt that this 20th year will be the most special 97X Next Big Thing yet.”
Tickets for the 20th Anniversary of 97X Next Big Thing are now on sale at Ticketmaster with one-day ticket prices starting at $40 plus service charges, sales tax and facility fee.
The 97X Next Big Thing is an all-ages show. To ensure a safe event, all attendees will have had to received a negative COVID-19 test within 72-hours of the event, or be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (14 days past final vaccination shot) and present a vaccination card at the door. Children under 12 years of age will be required to take a COVID-19 test within 72-hours before the event and will provide proof of negative result prior to entering the venue.
