Albert Named EVP/A&R At WBR
The announcement of Albert’s hire was made by WBR Co-Chairman & CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck, who said, “As we continue to expand our global A&R presence, Nate comes to us with a musician’s unique sensibility and a brilliant ear for authentic, compelling artists. He’s one of the most astute, intuitive, and inspired A&R people in the business, and the diversity and quality of the music that Nate has championed speaks for itself. He’s a fantastic addition to the team.”
Albert began his music career at the tender age of 13, when he co-founded the pioneering ska punk band, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, who scored RIAA platinum in 1997 with their seminal album, Let’s Face It, featuring the global hit single, “The Impression That I Get.” Albert amicably parted with the band in 2000 to attend Brown University, graduating with honors in Political Theory. In 2006, Albert became an A&R consultant for Universal/Republic Records, later advancing to SVP. Over the next decade, he signed The Weeknd, Phantogram, Anberlin, and others. Albert joined Capitol Records in 2016 as EVP of A&R.
