Andrews Setting New RECORDS
• The multi-talented Jenna Andrews has joined Barry Weiss‘ RECORDS label (a newly established joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment) as an exclusive A&R consultant. In her new position, Andrews will employ her collaborative skills as vocal producer, songwriter, mentor/partner, A&R and artist development to the label, working from New York and Los Angeles.
Andrews began her musical career in Vancouver and was discovered by manager Chris Smith (Alessia Cara, Nelly Furtado). Andrews signed with Island Def Jam, and after an EP release and a period of writing and recording, she switched gears from performer to songwriter and signed with Sony/ATV. Her songwriting collaborators and creative partners include Drake, Dua Lipa, Tori Kelly, Jessie J and Jennifer Lopez, as well as producers Doc McKinney, Noah 40 Shebib, Diplo, DJ Mustard, Max Martin and Stargate, to name a few. Andrews is currently excited about projects from Noah Cyrus as well as singer-songwriter Lennon Stella, star of CMT’s hit show Nashville and the first artist Andrews signed to the RECORDS label.
Commenting on Andrews’ new position at RECORDS, Partner & Co-founder Barry Weiss stated, “I have been extremely impressed with Jenna since meeting her as an artist at Island Records several years ago. Having been re-introduced to her as a songwriter, vocal producer and all around creative talent, I felt that it was really important and timely to get her more involved at RECORDS as an A&R consultant and look forward to having her as a part of our young company’s continuing development.” Andrews said, “I’m very proud and excited to join Barry at RECORDS and look forward to joining his incredible team.”
