Borchettas Awarding $150K In Grants
• Fifteen years ago, Scott Borchetta opened the doors of a small office on Music Row for a start-up label he named Big Machine Records. With just a handful of employees and few artists, Big Machine went on to create its own path to become one of the most successful independent record labels in the world. To celebrate the label’s historic success, BMLG President/CEO Scott and his wife Sandi Borchetta, BMLG’s SVP of Creative, announced last month the launch of a grant fund for 501c3 non-profit music schools and organizations, awarding fifteen recipients with $10,000 grants. In a newly released video, BMLG artists Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert, Carly Pearce and Riley Green are all encouraging eligible folks to apply.
In order to be eligible, organizations must be a public school or a current 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Applicants have until November 16 to apply and will be notified the beginning of December if they are chosen to receive one of the grants. Grant recipients and their students will also have the opportunity to attend a livestream event with BMLG artists. Qualifying non-profit music schools and organizations can apply online.
The grants are supported by the Borchettas’ MUSIC HAS VALUE Fund, which was created in 2015 to provide financial support to organizations which support those who make music, aspire to make music, and access and appreciate music.
