Borris Named Head Of Music, 101 Studios
• 101 Studios has hired veteran music industry executive Jon Borris as its Head of Music. In this new role, the Nashville-based Borris will oversee the development and growth of 101’s new music label, driving opportunities to champion artists, expand 101’s creative reach, and spearhead innovative projects at the intersection of music and culture.
As part of its expansion, 101 has also partnered with Nashville-based Thirty Tigers for marketing, distribution and additional label services. Thirty Tigers holds significant influence in the Country and Americana music communities, with a roster that includes, among others, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Turnpike Troubadours, Lucinda Williams, Lupe Fiasco, Ryan Bingham, and Portugal. The Man.
With nearly three decades of experience, Borris joins 101 following a six-year run at Republic Records. He also played a pivotal role in ushering Big Machine Label Group’s Country artists into the pop music landscape. Prior to Republic, Borris spent 20 years at Sony Music Entertainment, rising to Head of Pop Promotion for Columbia Records.
