Burnette Named EVP, Def Jam, Pres. 4th/B’Way
The announcement of Burnette’s new dual role was made by Tunji Balogun, Chairman & CEO, Def Jam Recordings, who said, “LaTrice is a proven leader, a consummate professional, and someone who’s work and reputation I’ve admired for a long time. In addition to her leadership roles at Def Jam and 4TH & Broadway, Burnette is also Chair of the Programming and Curation Committee of Universal Music Group’s Task Force for Meaningful Change. Burnette joined the UMG senior executive team in 2018, when she was appointed EVP/GM of Island Records. Before that she spent eight years at Epic Records, rising to SVP of Marketing. The Brooklyn-born Burnette began her music industry career at Roc-A-Fella Records in 1999, while attending Pace University.
