Executive Action At Saban Music Latin
• Saban Music Group has fortified the executive team of the recently launched Saban Music Latin with the hire of Liz Leyva as Vice President of Latin Marketing and Cristobal Brito as Sr. Director of Latin A&R.
Leyva (left) previously held executive positions at Universal Music Latin Entertainment, NBC Universal, and, most recently, Sony Music US Latin, where she was involved in the success of artists like Becky G, Natti Natasha, Jennifer Lopez, and REIK, while also powering various Diversity and Inclusion programs. The Puerto Rico-born Brito (right) co-founded Good Family Group, which managed top producers and songwriters such as Latin GRAMMY® Award winners Jon The Producer, Palace, and more. He has logged extensive experience in A&R and publishing, serving as the Director of Publishing for Rimas Publishing.
Leyva and Brito will now spearhead a new era of Latin artists alongside Saban Music Group CEO Gustavo Lopez while reporting to Saban Music Latin EVP/GM Alejandro Reglero, who stated, “I am very proud and excited about the executive team we are assembling; having Liz and Cristobal join the Saban Music Latin team is a dream come true for our artists, working alongside some of the top music executives in the industry. I have nothing but respect for Liz & Cristobal’s track record and work ethic. It’s another sign of the great times ahead for Saban Music Group and its artists.” Leyva commented, “Under the leadership of Haim, Gus, and Alejandro, the company is poised to make history in Latin Music. It’s an honor to be a part of Saban Music Group. We’ve got endless possibilities together, and I’m excited to be a part of this team.”
Saban Music Group has already achieved success in the Latin genre in its short two-year history. SMG kicked off 2022 with the legendary Don Omar scoring a No. 1 on Latin radio for three weeks with “Se Menea.” The roster also boasts Puerto Rican artist Chesca, whose biggest single to date, “Te Quiero Baby” Ft. Pitbull and the legendary Frankie Valli, hit No. 1 on the Latin Alt, Latin Pop, and Latin Rhythm charts.
Saban Music’s commitment to Latin music through the Saban Music Latin expansion includes commitments to signing more acts to its 360 model, strategic artist partnerships, publishing, branding, gaming, and the NFT space, amongst other key verticals.
