Glass Breaks Digital Ground At WMG

• Warner Music Group (WMG) has promoted Jon Glass to Senior Vice President, Head of Digital Legal Affairs. In this role, Glass will lead the company’s legal efforts in support of WMG’s major digital initiatives, working closely with WMG’s business development team. Glass reports to WMG Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Paul Robinson and succeeds Ron Wilcox, who will retire after a decade at the company, and a long successful career in the industry.

“Jon is the kind of person you want on your side of the negotiating table,” said Robinson. “He’s a savvy and level-headed deal-maker with a wealth of experience in all things digital. He sees the big picture and also the details. I’ve watched Jon lead the charge on many of our most strategic and cutting-edge deals, and I know he’ll make a great leader as we navigate uncharted territory and explore fresh opportunities for our artists and labels. As Ron passes the torch, we wish him well. His counsel and expertise over the past ten years have been invaluable.”

Glass commented, “It’s an exciting time to be in this business, as new technology is constantly emerging and new opportunities for consumers to experience our music are expanding. It’s also a crucial time, as we defend and champion the value of music with fair and equitable deals that make sense for our artists and labels. I’m happy to be doing this great work in collaboration with our wonderful BD and digital legal teams. I’m grateful to Paul and WMG for this opportunity, and to Ron for his years of training and mentorship.”

Glass has held various roles within Warner Music Group since joining the company in 2010, including Associate Counsel, Digital Legal Affairs before being promoted to VP, and most recently, SVP.
