Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis Sign With BMG
• Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated multi-platinum production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have inked a new recording deal with BMG, their very first-ever artist album deal for their first-ever artist album of all original music. Further details, including a track list featuring iconic collaborations spanning their influential discography, will be revealed soon.
The Minnesota natives earned two Gold albums as original members of The Time before launching their production career together. The duo is probably best known for producing Janet Jackson‘s landmark albums Control, Rhythm Nation 1814, Janet, The Velvet Rope and Unbreakable, along with projects for Mariah Carey, Elton John, George Michael, Usher, Barry White, Yolanda Adams, Lionel Richie, Luther Vandross, Boyz II Men, the Spice Girls, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Patti LaBelle, and others.
Jam remarked, “BMG immediately got our vision and understood where we wanted to go with this album. There was real mutual respect. We’ve found the perfect partner to kick off this next era and finally deliver our first record to the world.” Lewis added, “It’s crazy to think we’re about to release our debut album after all these years.
