Kendrick Dominates 68th Grammy Awards

• Going into last night’s 68th Grammy Awards, Kendrick Lamar led the pack with nine nominations — he went home with five, including one of the “Big Four” General Field awards — Record of the Year and Best Melodic Rap Performance (with SZA) for “Luther,” Best Rap Album for GNX; Best Rap Song for “TV Off,” and Best Rap Performance for “Chains & Whips” (Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, f/Kendrick Lamar & Pharrell Williams. After winning his first four of the evening, Variety noted, “That fourth win pushed him over the top to become the most-awarded rapper in Grammy history, beating Jay-Z’s old mark (25).”

Two of the other “Big Four” awards — Song of the Year honors went to Billie Eilish and her co-writer brother, Finneas for “Wildflower,” and Olivia Dean was the winner of Best New Artist.

Bringing the evening to a dramatic conclusion — overcome with emotion, and bathed in an extended ovation from the audience, Bad Bunny accepted the final major award — Album of the Year — for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, delivering his acceptance speech in Spanish and English. DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS also took home the Grammy for Best Música Urbana Album. Earlier in the day, your 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show performer scored the Grammy for Best Global Music Performance for “EoO.”

And speaking of three-time winners… Lady Gaga is the proud owner of a trio of 2026 Grammys, as “Abracadabra” won for Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Remixed Recording (which goes to the remixer, Gesaffelstein), while Mayhem was honored as Best Pop Vocal Album.

Jelly Roll was also a triple winner — Best Contemporary Country album for “Beautifully Broken,” Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Amen” with Shaboozy, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake.

 Other multiple winners: Leon Thomas — Best R&B Album for Mutt, & Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Vibes Don’t Lie” • Kehlani: Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song — “Folded” • The Cure — Best Alternative Music Performance for “Alone,” and Best Alternative Music Album for Songs of a Lost World.

Of special note: “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters became the first KPop song to earn a Grammy Sward, winning Best Song Written for Visual Media.

The evening kicked off with a high-energy performance of “APT.” by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars, followed shortly thereafter by an elaborate production number (featuring a large cast of amazingly synchronized dancers) for Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Manchild.” The show was jam-packed with performances (most notably, all eight Best New Artist nominees back-to-back) and multiple lengthy musical tributes to Ozzy Osbourne, D’Angelo, and Roberta Flack, incorporated into an extended “In Memorium” segment.
