Meet Columbia’s Business & Legal Bookends
Columbia Records announced two key appointments in its Business and Legal Affairs department — Nancy Marcus Seklir and Andrew Ross have both been promoted to Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs. Marcus Seklir will be based in based in New York, while Ross is based in Los Angeles. Both were previously SVP, Business and Legal Affairs for Columbia.
Rob Stringer, Chief Executive Officer of Sony Music Entertainment remarked, “Nancy and Andrew’s combined experience and business judgment have been invaluable. Their seamless professional rapport with managers, legal peers, and fellow business colleagues is second to none. Columbia Records joins me in congratulating Nancy and Andrew on their well-deserved promotions.”
Marcus Seklir (left) joined Sony Music as Counsel in 1993. She was promoted to Director of Business Affairs in 1995, to VP of Business and Legal Affairs, East Coast in 1998, and to SVP of Business Affairs in 2003. “I’m grateful to Rob Stringer for his continued trust and support,” said Marcus Seklir. “It’s an honor to be part of a label that serves such an incredible roster of artists. Ross (right) joined Sony Music as Counsel in 1991. He was upped to Sr. Counsel and Director of Business Affairs, West Coast in 1994, to VP and Sr. Counsel, West Coast in 1999, and to SVP of Business Affairs in 2001. “I would like to thank Rob Stringer for his support and leadership,” Ross said. “It’s a privilege to work for a label with such unparalleled history, and I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to that legacy.”
