• Arjun Pulijal has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing for Capitol Records, it was announced today by Capitol Music Group Chairman Steve Barnett. In his new role, Pulijal will lead the label’s marketing department, overseeing the design and execution of marketing campaigns for the full roster of superstar, established and developing artists on CMG’s flagship label headed by its President, Jeff Vaughn. Pulijal was most recently Vice President of Marketing for Capitol Records and remains based at the company’s headquarters within its iconic Capitol Tower in Hollywood.
According to Vaughn, “Arjun has a remarkable ability to bring an artist’s vision to life and to create the impactful moments that are key to any successful marketing campaign. His experience across a broad range of genres makes him the ideal executive to lead Capitol’s marketing team into the future. I congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.” Pulijal said, “I want to thank Steve, Michelle Jubelirer and Jeff for this opportunity, and the entire team at Capitol for their passion and ingenuity in bringing our marketing campaigns to life. Most importantly, I’d like to thank all of the artists that I have the honor of working with; I’m here for them and their music, first and foremost. As our industry continues to evolve, respecting and doing right by an artist’s trust in their label team is always my priority, and I take pride in my role to validate their faith in us.”
Pulijal joined Capitol in 2013 as a Director of Marketing, rising to Vice President in 2017. Prior to joining Capitol, Pulijal spent seven years at Epic Records in New York, first in A&R and then throughout various departments, including Publicity and Digital, before becoming a Marketing Director in 2009.
The highly-regarded Pulijal is renowned for his passionate advocacy for artists and their music, having conceived and executed innovative large-scale campaigns for some of the music’s most important and culturally-significant artists. Among his many successes is the campaign for Paul McCartney‘s 2018 Egypt Station — the first No. 1 album debut of his career, propelled by the Emmy-winning Carpool Karaoke TV special and surprise livestream concert event at Grand Central Station in partnership with YouTube.
Pulijal has also led marketing efforts for Beck since he first came to Capitol six years ago, with his Morning Phase album winning five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year in 2015, followed by 2017’s Grammy-winning Colors, which benefited from Pulijal’s work in creating the Webby Award-nominated #BECKWOW Instagram campaign.
