Rock Hall Induction To Stream Live
• The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed two significant pieces of news regarding the upcoming 38th Annual Induction Ceremony — A) the Nov. 3 event will be streamed live for the first time, and B) the first round of performers has been revealed.
Variety reports that in Disney+ has picked up rights to stream the event live, a major change from previous years when fans had to wait weeks to watch an edited broadcast on HBO. The Disney+ livestream will go out coast-to-coast from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Nov. 3 at 8pm ET/5pm PT and will be available on demand following the ceremony. It was also announced that the ceremony will return to its ancestral home in Cleveland for 2024.
The Rock Hall also announced the first round of performers: please welcome 2023 Inductees Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, and Willie Nelson, along with special guest performers Brandi Carlile, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., Chris Stapleton, St. Vincent, and New Edition, with more acts TBA.
“This historic live stream on Disney+ and special on ABC is a testament to the diverse sounds and enduring power of rock ‘n’ roll,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. Rob Mills, EVP of Unscripted & Alternative Entertainment for Walt Disney Television, added, “We are so excited to offer audiences a front-row seat when they tune in to Disney+ and ABC.” ABC will air an edited three-hour highlights special on Jan. 1 at 8pm ET/PT.
