Sonkin Rocks @ Columbia Records
• Columbia Records is pleased to announce the appointment and promotion of Lisa Sonkin to Senior Vice President of Rock Formats and Public Radio. In addition to her current duties as SVP of Triple A and Public Radio Promotion, Sonkin will now also oversee and manage the label’s Alternative & Rock Formats.
In making the announcement, Lee Leipsner, Executive Vice President of Promotion for Columbia Records, said, “Lisa’s leadership and continued accomplishments at Triple A, Non-Com and Public Radio makes her the perfect person to head this expanded department. Her professionalism and passion are contagious and will be felt immediately in her new role. We are all excited and proud to elevate Lisa to this new position.” Sonkin’s promotion is effective immediately.
Sonkin has been with Columbia Records since 2009 and was upped from VP to SVP of Triple A and Public Radio Promotion in August 2017. Sonkin previously spent four years at Epic Records as VP of Triple A Promotion, and from 1993 to 2004, she worked at Elektra Records.
