SRG/ILS Re-Ups With Virgin Music Group
• The SRG/ILS Group is pleased to announce that it has extended its successful partnership with Virgin Music Group, building upon their partnership which began in 2015.
That partnership includes a catalog of releases from Brian McKnight, Chaka Khan, Avant, J. Brown, Ruben Studdard, Lalah Hathaway, Johnny Gill, Vivian Green, After 7, and many more. SRG/ILS also represents several independent labels, including Music Matters, MPress Records, and Blues label Gulf Coast Records, with which SRG/ILS has enjoyed several No. 1 albums in the genre. Last year SRG/ILS launched the SRG Jazz imprint, which has released albums and singles featuring legends of the genre David Benoit and Jeff Lorber, alongside contemporary stars Mike Phillips, Xavier Gordon, and Damien Escobar. Escobar recently landed at No. 1 on the Jazz airplay chart with his song “Taboo.”
SRG/ILS is off to a fast start in 2024 with a new album from the top-selling Reggae group of all time, UB40. Their new album, UB45, a celebration of their 45 years together, is currently a top 5 album — and the No. 1 Reggae album — in the United Kingdom. This week SRG/ILS will release the first single from Lalah Hathaway‘s new album, VANTABLACK.
Jacqueline Saturn, President, Virgin Music Group, North America & EVP of Global Artist Relations, commented, “We love our partners and the SRG/ILS roster, which is full of incredibly successful and career-defining artists. We are proud of all we have accomplished together and are excited to build on their vision for the future.”
Claude Villani, CEO of SRG/ILS, said, “SRG/ILS has undergone tremendous growth over the past several years, largely thanks to the strong support provided by Virgin Music Group. Jacqueline Saturn and her team are exceptional, demonstrating a commitment to navigating today’s ever-changing music landscape with an artist-first attitude.”
