• To the surprise of pretty much no one, Taylor Swift was named Artist Of The Year during Monday’s 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. She also took home the awards for Pop Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year (Eras Tour), Best Lyrics (“Is It Over Now? – Taylor’s Version”), TikTok Bop of the Year (“Cruel Summer”) and Favorite Tour Style.
The event, staged at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and televised on FOX, featured performances by host Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Tate McRae, Latto and more. Jennifer Hudson delivered a special musical tribute to the 2024 iHeartRadio Icon Award Recipient, Cher, Beyoncé was presented with the 2024 iHeartRadio Innovator Award, and the iHeartRadio Landmark Awards went to Green Day’s release of Dookie and TLC’s CrazySexyCool.
Taylor accepted her Artist Of The Year award via video, presented to her by Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and *NSYNC’s Lance Bass. “Thank you for voting for me for this incredible honor, Artist of the Year,” she said, addressing her fans. “I’m so blown away, and so thankful, and I just can’t wait to keep having fun with you guys because we have a lot of exciting things coming up.” One of those “exciting things” is the April 19 release of her next album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Other notable award winners — Jelly Roll was named both Best New Artist (Country) and Best New Artist (Pop); Song of the Year: “Kill Bill” (SZA); Pop Song of the Year: “Flowers” (Miley Cyrus); Pop Album of the Year: GUTS (Olivia Rodrigo). The lengthy list of winners is posted here.
