WMN Welcomes Chase, Ups Marsh
• Warner Music Nashville bolsters its Radio & Streaming department with 1) the addition of a new member, and 2) an internal transition. The WAR radio team, home to Chris Janson, Dan + Shay, Gabby Barrett and others, welcomes industry veteran Michael Chase (left) aboard as its National Director, starting April 13).
At the same time, promo pro James Marsh (right) moves into a newly created National Director role in which he will be responsible for airplay across the WAR, WEA and WMN radio teams concurrently.
Both gentlemen report to VP Radio Tom Martens, who said, “The strength of our radio team is dependent on the artists we serve and the people who serve them. We’re so fortunate to add another brick to an already robust foundation with Michael Chase. He has both the radio and label know-how that will make him an incredible asset to the WAR roster.”
Chase was most recently National Head of Hot AC Promotion at The Orchard (formerly Sony RED). Before that he spent 16 years with WSTR (Star 94.1)/Atlanta as APD/MD and Director of Marketing & Promotions. Texas native Marsh began his music career as an artist development rep at UMG in 2000. From 2001-2006 he was a Promotion Manager at Island Def Jam, before transitioning to Atlantic Records as Southwest Regional Pop/Rock rep. Marsh later spent four years as a Nat’l Director at Roadrunner before returning to regional positions at Warner Records and, most recently, Big Machine Label Group.
Commenting on Marsh’s transition, SVP of Radio Kristen Williams said, “We already knew James was an essential part of our framework. When we decided to proceed with creating an ancillary National Director role, we happened to have the perfect person for the job right under our roof. We can’t wait for him to lend his experience and incomparable personality to even more of our radio journeys!”
