New Chapter For Jay & Jay
• RAMP can now officially report that Jay Michaels resigned from CBS Radio Dallas back in October, shortly before the Entercom merger. Michaels (left) had programmed Top 40 KVIL (AMP 103.7) — now ALT 103.7 — and Adult Hits KJKK (100.3 Jack FM). The bigger news here is that Michaels and his husband, Jay Roecker (right), recently completed a six-month labor of love when they finalized the adoption of their beloved son, Clark Brodner Roecker.
In a lengthy and emotional Facebook post, Michaels said, in part, “In October I resigned from my job at CBS. There was no press release or explanation and for a life-changing reason. I want to thank my family, friends and the entire music & media industry for respecting my privacy during this entire time. Six months ago my husband Jay Roecker and I went to Austin to meet a potential son. I took one look at this incredible child and cried. I instantly knew he was our son.”
Michaels added, “Clark is my biggest accomplishment ever in my life… I know some hoped for juicy gossip surrounding my departure, but instead it was the biggest story of love, hope and new beginnings. Clark is now 4, has slight autism, and, after six foster homes in his short life, is thriving… Clark has made me a new person that I had no idea existed & has brought new love, life and laughter to our world. Clark, you are our everything. You are now home, safe & forever, my son.” Your best New Year wishes can be shared with Jay & Jay & Clark at JayMichaelsMusic@gmail.com.
