Beasley Celebrates The Big 6-5

• In 2026, Beasley Media Group proudly marks its 65th Anniversary — an important milestone reflecting decades of growth, innovation, and service to communities across the country.

The Company was founded on December 3, 1961, when its late founder, George Beasley, was awarded an FCC license to build WPYB-AM, a daytimer in Benson, North Carolina. At a time when many smaller communities lacked access to local broadcasting, he recognized radio’s unique ability to inform, connect, and serve. That vision became the cornerstone of the company.

Over the past 65 years, Beasley has grown from a single radio station into a diversified media company, operating 55 radio stations in 12 large and mid-sized markets and extending its reach through digital and live event platforms. While the media landscape has continued to evolve, Beasley’s dedication to local communities, exceptional content, and trusted partnerships has remained unwavering.

The company’s anniversary theme — “65 Strong: Forward Together” — reflects both the strength of the company’s foundation and its focus on the future. To mark this milestone, Beasley Media Group has introduced a commemorative 65th Anniversary logo, which will be featured throughout 2026 across company communications, platforms, and events. The logo serves as a visual representation of Beasley’s enduring legacy and forward-looking vision.

“Reaching 65 years is a testament to the resilience, creativity, and dedication of the people who make Beasley Media Group what it is today,” said CEO Caroline Beasley. “While we are incredibly proud of our legacy, this milestone is equally about where we are headed — continuing to evolve, embrace innovation, and strengthen the local connections that have always set us apart.”

Throughout 2026, Beasley Media Group will commemorate its 65th year by highlighting key moments from its history, celebrating the people and markets that define the company, and reinforcing its strategic vision for continued growth. As Beasley expands its digital capabilities and deepens its commitment to localism, the company remains focused on delivering meaningful connections for audiences, advertisers, and the communities it serves.
