Big Machine’s Victory Lap
Country music — and Big Machine Label Group — made strong showings during last Sunday’s corporately branded Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Big Machine enjoys a long-standing relationship with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the entire racing community, frequently sponsoring races thanks to BMLG President/CEO Scott Borchetta‘s background as a driver. As the race’s official namesake, Brantley Gilbert was kept plenty busy — he performed his new single, “The Ones That Like Me” on the track before taking a lap in the pace car and officially calling for drivers to “Start Your Engines!”
Big Machine newcomer Carly Pearce (“Every Little Thing”) joined Gilbert and Borchetta at Victory Podium for the driver introductions before Pearce delivered her stunning rendition of the National Anthem.
After an eventful six-hour race that was highlighted by a lengthy rain delay and a whole bunch of yellow flags, Kasey Kahne finally emerged as the winner, pulling his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet into Victory Lane to take the Brickyard 400 title for 2017.
