Can’t Get Mo Country Than This
• Beasley Country 99.5 WQYK/Tampa welcomes major market talent and multimedia influencer, Mo on the Radio as its new afternoon drive personality and Promotions Coordinator.
The new gig represents: 1) a brand new format for Mo, and 2) a radio homecoming for Brooklyn-born Mo, who began his career at 18 as a promotions intern across the street at iHeartMedia Top 40 WFLZ, working his way up to producer, and eventually, an on-air talent. As the artist formerly known as “Mo Bounce,” Mo most notably spent 12 years at the mighty Z100/New York, starting in nights in 2009 and working his way up to afternoon drive until April 2021, when, at the height of the pandemic, he relocated to Florida to be located closer to his family, go to college and become a registered nurse while working in a cardiac surgical unit.
“Adding Mo on the Radio to an already talented Tampa team shows how committed we are to adding the best talent in the world to these properties,” said Ron deCastro, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Tampa. PD Rick Thomas concurs, commenting, “When I learned Mo loved Country music as much as our listeners do, I knew this was going to be special. I am super excited to bring this very talented proven radio winner to 99.5 QYK.”
Mo exclaimed, “I am BEYOND thrilled to get back at it with Beasley and WQYK. When I was approached about this opportunity, it just felt amazing. From the top down, everyone is passionate and just as excited as I am.” He added, “After much needed time to regroup in life, I’m ready to truly be ME, the way I always strived to be on the air. Huge thank you’s to Rick Thomas, Ron deCastro and Dom Theodore. Let’s go!”
