Carson & Crew Extended At WNEW/NY
• Audacy announced contract extensions with Karen Carson, Johnny “Drama” Mingione and “Intern Anthony” Malerba — co-hosts of Karen Carson in the Morning on WNEW (NEW 102.7)/New York, heard weekdays from 6-10am ET. Pictured, (l-r): Malerba, Carson & Mingione.
Carson originally joined what was then WWFS (Fresh 102.7) in early 2011 to do middays, and was later elevated to morning co-host. She previously spent many years across the street on iHeartMedia rival WLTW (106.7 Lite FM), most notably co-hosting Karen and Christine in the Morning from 2007-2009. Her career includes middays at KOST 103/Los Angeles, and she’s also been heard on WAXQ and WKTU/New York. Carson started her career at WJLK/Monmouth-Ocean, NJ.
Mingione started his career as an intern/sandwich-getter for Jimmy Fallon and Regis & Kelly. From there, he created viral videos and parody songs. He joined the Carson show four years ago, following a three-year stint across the street on the late WPLJ as a member of Todd & Jayde In The Morning and roamed the city as “Johnny on the Streets.” Before joining WPLJ in 2016, Mingione worked for CMG Top 40 WBLI/Nassau-Suffolk on Dana & Jayson in the Morning and as Director of Digital Media for WBLI and WBAB.
Malerba is a Brooklyn-born on-air talent and Executive Producer of Karen Carson In The Morning. You can hear him every morning doing dozens of impressions, and his love for Brooklyn is almost as enormous as his love for fresh mozzarella, his girlfriend, his family and his car. From WWE to Apple, Intern Anthony shows passion for the things he loves the most.
