Chattanooga Wakes Up With Jeremy Loper

• With the recent conclusion of John Boy & Billy‘s syndicated morning show, Cumulus Classic Rock WSKZ (KZ106)/Chattanooga, TN elects to go live and local for the first time in nearly 30 years with the hire of format veteran Jeremy Loper.

Loper, who debuts on Jan. 12, most recently did mornings at iHeartMedia Classic Rock WNRQ (105.9 The Rock)/Nashville until last October, but he’s probably best known for his 12-year run in mornings as co-host of Loper & Randi on North American Broadcasting Active Rock WRKZ (99.7 The Blitz)/Columbus, OH. Earlier stops include former CBS Radio Alternative WPBZ (103.1 The Buzz)/West Palm Beach, WZTA/Miami, WAMX/Huntington, WV, KHTB/Salt Lake City, WZBH/Salisbury, MD, and WFLY/Albany, NY.

Loper, also the creator and host of The Loper Show, a podcast and video series, commented, “Chattanooga is rock ‘n’ roll, and KZ106 is one of the most respected rock stations in the country. This brand has history, attitude, and loyalty — everything that makes great radio matter. I’m fired up to wake this city up and be part of something legendary.”

Scott Chase, OM of Cumulus Chattanooga and PD of KZ106 said, “The last time we changed the morning show was 29 years ago. We wish John Boy and Billy a very happy retirement, and can’t wait for Chattanooga to meet Jeremy. He’s talented, driven, and simply the right guy for this next chapter.” In anticipation of his new gig, Loper produced several social media promos HERE and HERE.
