Feels Like Christmas Morning

• It doesn’t matter how successful a recording artist becomes — no one ever gets over that unique, indescribable thrill that can only come from hearing your latest song on the radio for the first time. Such was the case on Monday afternoon with the lovely and talented Gwen Stefani, who was on her way to the airport when iHeartMedia AC KOST 103/Los Angeles just happened to play her new Interscope holiday duet with close, personal friend, Blake Shelton, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”

OK, to be fair, KOST did have a little inside intel, as PD John Peake relates to RAMP, “We got a call from Interscope saying that Gwen would be listening to KOST on her way to the airport. Since KOST is playing all holiday music, we took the opportunity to play Gwen & Blake’s new song.” Gwen was live-streaming video in the car when KOST afternoon talent Mark Wallengren “dropped the needle on the record,” so to speak, and you can watch Gwen’s genuinely joyful reaction as she began singing along, then rolled down the window and exclaimed, “My song’s on the radio right now!” Adding even more mileage to the bit, Gwen later re-tweeted the video to her 2.4 million fans!
