Gordo Wakes Up In Jackson, Mississippi
• Digio Strategies Country WUSJ (US96.3)/Jackson, MS is excited to announce the impending birth of a new morning show — the combo of Gordo & Hannah Lane will make their pre-dawn debut in mid-October, according to PD Traci Lee, who was a member of the station’s previous morning incarnation — Nate, Traci & Hannah Lane, whose final show was Sept. 12 with the retirement of 30-year cluster veteran Nate West.
“I’m so excited to have a fresh new start to the mornings,” said Lee, who will be tossing her alarm clock and moving to afternoon drive. “I’ve been doing mornings for almost 13 years, the last four with Nate, and we added Hannah a couple of years ago,” she explained. “Hannah is going to slide up to second chair, and I know she and Gordo are going to make magic.”
Thankfully, Gordo is no stranger to waking up ungodly early — he most recently did mornings on Hot AC WVMX (Mix 107.9)/Columbus, OH, and before that he co-hosted mornings on Sound Management Top 40 WNDV (U93)/South Bend, IN, and spent three years at Radio FM Media Hot AC KLTA (Big 98.7)/Fargo, ND — which explains the souvenir hat.
Lee noted, “We are thrilled to have Gordo join us, but he’s an Ohio State fan, so we’ll be in constant prayer about his conversion to the SEC.”
The new US96.3 lineup will soon look like this — 5-10am: Mornings with Gordo & Hannah Lane; 10am-2pm: Kim Allen; 2-6pm: Traci Lee; 6-10pm: Fisher Alexander; Overnights: Cafe Nashville.
