Hammer Time Again On Island 98.5
• iHeartMedia Honolulu announced that Gregg Hammer has rejoined The Wake Up Crew, weekdays from 6am-noon on Hawaiian Reggae KDNN (Island 98.5). Hammer famously spent more than 20 years with the show, starting in the early ’90s when the wildly popular Wake Up Crew was on former Rhythmic Top 40 KIKI (Hot I-94) — now KUBT (93.9 The Beat) and he remained with the show when it moved over to Island 98.5 in 2009.
Hammer is now joyfully reunited with Wake Up Crew originator Rory Wild along with co-host Auntie Brandi, who joined the show in 2020. “We’re so excited to have Hawaii’s funniest person back on Hawaii’s funniest morning radio show,” said Jamie Hyatt, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Honolulu. “After these past two years, we’re all in need of laughs in the morning, and here comes Rory Wild and Gregg Hammer getting back together to save the world, one laugh at a time.”
Big Koa, PD of Island 98.5 said, “It has been a dream of mine to get Rory Wild and Greg Hammer, the original ‘Wake-Up Crew’ back together again. Get ready for the next best thing to hit the air waves since music… Cheehooo!!”
Hammer exclaimed, “I’m excited to be coming back to iHeartMedia and the Island 98.5 Wake Up Crew. I’m looking forward to being a part of such an awesome team. You complete me.”
