Hey JT! Call Me!
• Maybe you heard something about this, but apparently the famous Justin Timberlake is in Minneapolis getting ready for his big Pepsi Halftime Show performance at this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Leave it to the enterprising staff of The Dave Ryan Show on iHeartMedia’s KDWB to hatch a clever Hail Mary play to get JT’s attention and have him call into the show… which explains this giant-ass electronic billboard that suddenly appeared Wednesday near the game’s venue, U.S. Bank Stadium.
As KDWB PD Rich Davis relates to RAMP, “We heard through an unnamed source that JT was staying out in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis. Steve-O from The Dave Ryan Show hatched this idea Tuesday night to put up a billboard to see if we could get Justin to call in to talk to Dave. The board is strategically placed on I-394 headed out of Wayzata and on the way into downtown toward the stadium.”
Thankfully, the promotional wheels turned swiftly, and the board was up by noon Wednesday. Davis added, “Fingers crossed that JT is looking out the window of his chauffeured all-black Escalade and jots down our easy-to-remember number!”
For his part, Ryan has already pre-imagined what such a conversation might sound like, as he posted this pre-dramatized version: “Me: ‘Hello, KDWB.’ Voice: ‘Hi, is this Dave Ryan?’ Me: ‘Yep, who’s this?’ Voice: ‘It’s ya boy, Justin Timberlake.’ Me: (drops phone. runs screaming). JT: ‘Hello, Dave?’ Me: (distant screaming).”
