Jet Ready To Soar At 88.5FM
• Public, member-supported Southern California Triple A 88.5 FM announces the addition of the personality known as “Jet” to oversee marketing and promotions for the station, in addition to hosting some on-air shifts.
“No pun intended, but Jet is yet another rising star we’ve added to our staff,” said 88.5 FM GM Patrick Osburn. “She has tremendous relationships with the promoters, as well as keen instincts for creating win-win promotions for our partners and the station. 88.5 is surging right now, and we needed someone with her organization skills. There’s also the added bonus that she happens to embody our uptempo, high-energy format.” He added, “Her fresh on-air approach blends nicely as the station continues to contemporize and improve the playlist.”
Ms. Jet is most certainly familiar with 88.5 — she has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the station’s HQ at Cal State Northridge, and she previously worked for 88.5 FM’s news department as a producer. Jet has also worked as an open-mic host at an independent recording studio.
Commenting on her new responsibilities, Jet remarked, “The new image of ‘The Independent 88.5 FM’ truly coincides with my passion to share great new, local and timeless music every day. At 88.5 FM, I have the opportunity to discover fantastic new artists and the platform to introduce them to our audience, unmatched by any other station and with a world-class team driving it!”
88.5 is a combined effort of KCSN, which serves California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and KSBR, which serves Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA. The two stations began simulcasting as 88.5 FM in October 2017, linking the Los Angeles County and Orange County-based signals.
