Kaplan’s Sound Gets Louder
• Congrats to Jake Kaplan, Operations & Creative Director for Audacy Los Angeles, who has been elevated to the corporate level in the newly created role of Director of Imaging and Sound Design for the entire company.
Kaplan is a 20-year company veteran (CBS Radio/Entercom/Audacy) and was formerly Operations and Creative Director for Top 40 KAMP (97.1 AMP Radio) — now KNX-FM — and the company’s LGBTQIA-targeted Channel Q. Kaplan has also worked his sonic magic with the World Famous KROQ and Adult Hits KCBS-FM (93.1 Jack FM)/Los Angeles, as well as the former WHFS/Washington. Earlier in his career Kaplan was the Production/Imaging Director for KISW and KNDD (The End)/Seattle.
A clearly elated Kaplan shared the good news via LinkedIn, as he posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Director of Imaging & Sound Design at Audacy, Inc.! Since moving to LA in 2005 I lived my radio dreams by creating the sound of 93.1 Jack FM, got to make imaging here and there at the World Famous KROQ, launched and was the Creative Director at 97.1 AMP Radio, was part of the team that dreamed up the LGBTQ+ national radio station Channel Q, and have worked on countless other amazing projects. Really excited to move onto this new role and work with our national programming teams and create the best sound design and imaging in audio. Thank you Dave Richards and Jeff Sottolano for the opportunity.” Your best wishes can be shared with Jake at Jake.Kaplan@audacy.com.
