Laid Off, Schmayed Off
• Rizzo and Jeff just keep working! Back in March we originally told you about several significant iHeartMedia layoffs, which included the talented duo of Richard “Rizzo” Deaver and Jeff Daly, iHeartRadio’s 2022 & 2023 Digital Influencers of the Year, who were downsized out of their gig on Hot Talk WAIO (Radio 95.1)/Rochester, NY after a year on the job.
Despite this temporary loss of a formal gig, the boys have not slowed down, as Rizzo exclaims to RAMP, “We will not let the iHeartMedia layoffs keep us down! Just this week alone we have made enough money to pay our rent on social media. We are now in the top 4% of content creators on the Facebook platform. Growth 16,000% averaging 20-30 new followers a day.”
Rizzo continued, “We have been to the PGA Championship, broadcast live at all major events this week in Rochester. We just partnered with a local nonprofit called Person Centered Housing (PCH), went to the Rochester Lilac Festival, and capped the week off with a wrestling appearance, as demanded by the listeners…” (watch the carnage here).
