Leatherberry & Meghan In Motion
• Megan Leatherberry has been named as the new Marketing and Digital Director for Entercom’s Madison, WI group — Hot AC WMHX (Mix 105.1), Classic Hits WOLX and Triple A WMMM (105.5 Triple M). Happily, no pesky moving expenses were incurred during this hire, as Ms. Leatherberry recently served in a similar role across the street with iHeartMedia.
As OM Chase Daniels tells RAMP, “Megan comes to us with the knowledge and experience to help take our already great team to…” [Ed. note: Daniels goes on to describe a state of corporate excellence that resides a step or so above its current level.] Leatherberry succeeds Myra Ellison, who recently announced her resignation, citing health issues following back surgery.
• Magic Broadcasting II Top 40 WILN (Island 106)/Panama City, FL has rewarded the persistence of “Midday Meghan,” who has worked her way up from part-time unpaid intern to fulltime middays. As PD Marc Summers reports, “Coming up after working her real job, Meghan would load music hooks, seg-edit stations and do practice airchecks, in the hopes of attaining the coveted on-air position. Her perseverance paid off, and she was tapped to do middays on a part-time voicetrack basis. Her drive, smarts and continual hard work made her the perfect choice for fulltime on-air, and training in the programming department — APD stripes aren’t far behind!”
An elated Meghan said, “I’m really excited to get my radio career started, and to do it in the city that I grew up in and love. I want to thank [GM] Misty Sims for recognizing my hard work and giving me this opportunity.” She added, “I think Marc Summers might have had a say too, but it’s hard to tell, because he’s in the production room playing the music really loud… all the time… is he deaf yet?”
Summers said, “One of the rare joys I’ve had in my career is finding someone so truly gifted… Meghan is smart, talented, and has worked so hard for this opportunity, that I will never forget calling her with the news that she was being upped to fulltime, and she started crying on the phone. That will be one memory I will always cherish.”
