More Morning Movement At CMG San Antonio

• Cox Media Group San Antonio continues to undergo major changes in morning drive — the latest development is the departure of Tucker “Frito” Young and Katy Dempsey from mornings on Country KCYY (Y100) for what we are told is a new opportunity TBA.

Young and Dempsey joined KCYY in January 2022, moving up in market size after a decade-long run in mornings on Bryan Broadcasting Top 40 KNDE (Candy 95)/Bryan-College Station, TX. Young had also doubled as OM of the group, and Dempsey was also PD of KNDE. The search for a replacement show on Y100 is now underway.

Across the hall, Hot AC KSMG (Hits 105.3) fills its morning vacancy by importing Ted, Drex & Kara from sister WSB-FM (B98.5)/Atlanta. KSMG had released previous morning duo Tony Cortez and Jenny Lee in early November, but last week re-hired Cortez to host mornings on Classic Hits 101.1 KONO-FM. Ted, Drex & Kara is also carried on CMG’s KRAV (Mix 96.5)/Tulsa.
