NASH Next Doing Well, Thank You
Cumulus Media happily announced substantial year-over-year growth of its NASH Next franchise, the company’s national and grassroots search for America’s newest Country star. The latest incarnation of NASH Next has more than doubled the number of registered artists over last year, and has recruited talent in 62 markets across the U.S., including Dallas, New York, Atlanta, Detroit and Nashville.
NASH Next 2017 has now moved into the next phase of the competition — the dramatic Fan Rating period, where listeners are encouraged to rate the registered artists by Sunday, July 30 at 11:59pm ET and can win the chance to attend the NASH Next 2017 finale in Nashville, TN. The top artists in each market will then compete to determine the one local winner who will proceed to the national challenge. Listeners can rate their local artists by visiting the NASH Next website.
“Our listeners know what music they like and who they want to hear on the radio, so the fan rating portion of this competition is extremely important to the program, giving our valuable listeners a voice in choosing the next country star,” said Mike McVay, EVP, Content & Programming for Cumulus Media. He added, “This competition provides our listeners a great radio experience.”
Your NASH Next 2016 winner, Todd O’Neill, released his debut single, “Love Again” in April and broke the top 50 country charts in early May. The music video for “Love Again” recently premiered on CMT and is currently being featured in the CMT Music 12 Pack Countdown. “This whole experience has been truly incredible,” said O’Neill. “There is honestly no way to describe what it’s like when you hear your first single played on the radio or when you see your name on the Country music charts — it’s what makes this program stand out from all others.”
