‘Nat’ Gross Wakes Up In Green Bay

• The intensive nationwide search is over at Midwest Communications’ Country WNCY (Y100)/Appleton-Green Bay, as the station proudly announces the hire of Natalie “Nat” Gross as the new co-host of the Y100 Morning Show alongside longtime Y100 wake-up artist Randy “Shotgun” Shannon. Gross steps into the role previously held for more than 20 years by Charli McKenzie, who left over the summer and relocated closer to family in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Gross brings more than a decade of storytelling experience to Y100 — first in her award-winning journalism career, then as a podcaster, and most recently as morning host at Contemporary Christian WNWC (Life 102.5)/Madison, WI. Originally from Virginia, Gross relocated to Wisconsin with her family in 2023 and says she’s embraced the region quickly. “I haven’t mastered the ‘Midwest goodbye’ just yet,” she joked, “but the accent has definitely found its way into my vocabulary.”

“Listeners are going to love Nat,” said Shannon, who recently added Y100 Brand Manager to his daily “to-do” list. “She brings warmth, humor, and a storyteller’s instinct that fits perfectly with what makes Y100 special. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’re building together.” [Photo by Birch Laine]
