Norfolk Wakes Up With Waters & West
• Max Media of Hampton Roads is proud to announce the the impending launch of a new morning show on Country WGH-FM (97.3 The Eagle)/Norfolk-Virginia Beach — effective Sept. 23, award-winning broadcaster Steve Waters will join the 97.3 The Eagle on-air family, teaming up with Eagle APD/MD and 30-year market veteran Karen West to create… wait for it… Eagle Mornings with Steve & Karen.
West has been handling The Eagle morning show since the April departure of former Eagle morning duo Cash Warren and Annaliese Lemieux-Kaplan.
Waters will arrive from Fredericksburg, VA, where for the past 13 years has been doing mornings for Alpha Media Country 93.3 WFLS. Waters’ career started at WACL/Harrisonburg, VA, followed by stops in Charleston, SC at WNKT, WSSX, and WTWF. Over the course of his career, Waters is a three-time nominee and 2018 CMA Personality of the Year, a two-time ACM Personality of the Year, and a three-time recipient of the “Best Radio Personality” award from the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.
