Pollack Named Pres., City of Hope MFEI Group
• Evan Lamberg, President of Universal Music Publishing Group, welcomes Alissa Pollack, iHeartMedia EVP of Global Music Marketing, as his successor as President of City of Hope’s Music, Film and Entertainment Industry (MFEI) fundraising group. Lamberg will transition to Board Chair in MFEI’s 51st year.
Pollack has notably supported City of Hope with more than a decade of leadership of Taste of Hope, an annual wine-tasting event held in New York City that has so far raised more than $5 million for City of Hope to improve health outcomes for people with cancer and diabetes.
“It’s been an honor for the last five years to serve as President of City of Hope’s MFEI,” Lamberg said. “In giving some deep thought into who should succeed me and step into this role, and after speaking with numerous MFEI board members, it was unanimous that we could not think of a better person than longtime MFEI board member, Alissa Pollack. Her passion and love for City of Hope over the years has been second to none. From her work on the very successful annual Taste of Hope event to her overall fundraising, I know Alissa will lead the MFEI Board to greater heights. I will continue my work for City of Hope, which I love dearly, and will continue to work hand in hand with Alissa. But make no mistake about it, this will be Alissa’s board to run. We all congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”
“I’m deeply honored to step into this expanded role at MFEI, building upon the remarkable foundation laid by Evan,” Pollack says. “His visionary leadership as president has propelled City of Hope’s mission forward, harnessing the power of music and entertainment to drive groundbreaking cancer research. Evan’s legacy is one of compassion, innovation, and relentless dedication to our shared goal: a world without cancer. I am inspired by his incredible work and committed to carrying forward his legacy as we strive toward a future where cancer is eradicated for all.”
In its 50-year history, the MFEI group has raised more than $150 million for City of Hope, one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the United States and a leading research center for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year, the MFEI Spirit of Life® gala hosts 800 to 1,000 industry executives, artists, songwriters and composers for a lively atmosphere that features high-profile musical performers and guests. Previous Spirit of Life honorees include Shelli and Irving Azoff, Edgar Bronfman Jr., Coran Capshaw, Eddy Cue, Clive Davis, Sir Lucian Grainge, Allen Grubman, Quincy Jones, Rob Light, Monte and Avery Lipman, Doug Morris, Mo Ostin, Bob Pittman, Jon Platt and Sylvia Rhone.
