Raise A Glass With 91X
• Two long-standing San Diego icons — Local Media San Diego Alternative XTRA (91X) and Ballast Point Brewing Company have teamed up to celebrate their local independent roots by collaborating on a special limited-release beer. After a few (OK, maybe more than just a few…) beer drinking & brainstorm sessions between the brewers at Ballast Point and the on-air team at 91X, the idea was formed to brew an Extra Pale Ale with a name too obvious to ignore: 91XPA.
“91XPA is the collaborative result of two proudly local and independent San Diego brands coming together to create a beer for a good cause — and that we’d all enjoy drinking,” said Garett Michaels, PD of 91X. “91XPA is the crushable Extra Pale Ale of our dreams, we can’t wait for all our friends, neighbors and listeners to enjoy it. Cheers to everyone at Ballast Point on your anniversary, we look forward to raising many pints of 91XPA to celebrate your 25 years of brewing excellence!”
As a part of the celebration, Ballast Point will also make a donation to San Diego Coastkeeper, a non-profit organization whose 25-year mission has been to protect and restore fishable, swimmable, and drinkable waters in San Diego County. The limited release 91XPA is available on draft now at all San Diego Ballast Point locations: Miramar, Little Italy, and Home Brew Mart, while supplies last.
