Start Packing For Green Bay
• Earlier this week Midwest Communications announced the impending retirement of Jim Murphy, the long-time morning talent on heritage Top 40 101.1 WIXX/Green Bay. The last time this position was available was in 1991. Yes, 32 years ago. The Murphy in the Morning show is coming to a close, effective Nov. 28, which means you now have a marvelous opportunity.
WIXX is an exceptional brand that breaks many of the traditional rules of the Top 40 format. WIXX is and has been, all things to Northeast Wisconsin. Covering the region with 100kw, high on Scray Hill, WIXX delivers a massive signal and boasts a history of ratings dominance.
The new morning host will join the veteran team of Katie Schurk (20 years) and Nick Vitrano (12 years) and a full staff of talents. When you arrive in the morning, there is someone there. We are live/local 24/7. You will have the flexibility to craft this show with confidence, trust and support from management.
Some of the qualities required: drive, competitiveness and relatability; someone who is solid with on-site interaction and exceptional with social media — an authentic personality who thrives in front of a crowd and makes friends easily. We have made a habit of hiring S.W.A.N.s — That acronym stands for Smart, Works Hard, Ambitious, Nice. We strongly inspire an environment that encourages creativity, fun and happiness.
FYI: Green Bay was recently named as the “Best Place To Live In America” by U.S. News & World Report, and Green Bay is also hosting the 2025 NFL Draft. And yes, the Packers are rather important here.
If you feel you can meet these specific standards, and are looking for a long-term situation, please submit your package to: wixx.wakemeup@mwcradio.com, and include any material that best represents your talent and personality.
